No, you're thinking of _The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin_, where a
disgruntled English bureaucrat abandons all hope and founds a chain of
low-rent department stores pandering to people who pay for garbage; the
name of the chain was 'grot'. :)

The show's closing sequence featured Reggie walking - fully suited up and
carrying a briefcase - into the Atlantic Ocean.
