Linux DNS and WinNT-Server

That's all you need to do for the in-addr.arpa zone, but not the 1000
domains you host.
You need 1000 zone slave records as well.
At the moment, when NT crashes you will still have reliable reverse-lookups,
but regular lookups on the 1000 domain names won't work.
