There is one small consideration between using address literals and dns
labels (e.g. lump.example.com vs 172.14.10.11) which is worth noting.
Human Factors. Most people can "remember" an IPv4 address literal e.g.
192.168.34.221 but it is considerably harder to remember an IPv6 literal,
e.g. fe80::2e0:98ff:fe8e:9449. So, which would you rather use?

lump.example.com   or   3ffe:805::2e0:98ff:fe8e:9449

(and no points for the folks who want to change thier IPv6 global address
to "cute" things, like 3ffe:805::DEAD:BEEF ... you know who you are ... :)
