I use several different ones for DNS lookup:
http://www.demon.net/external/ntools.shtml
http://us.mirror.menandmice.com/cgi-bin/DoDig
http://www.samspade.org/
http://www.bankes.com/nslookup.htm
and for tracing, I use:
http://www.tracert.com/cgi-bin/trace.pl

I have a routine I do for my son, walking down the hall, bumping into
walls, doing corkscrews and stumbling. I tell him I'm a Windows
operating system.
