Newbie question - updated root nameservers file?

I have just started setting up BIND 8.2.1 on RedHat 6.1. I noticed that the
named.ca file was last updated Aug 22, 1997. When I tried to go to the ftp
site listed to see if there was a newer one, I couldn't get there. Where can
I check to see if my file is out of date?
