Determining address of DNS servers under Windows

Is there a programmatical way to determine the IP address of the
current DNS servers under the various Windows platforms without having
to dig through the registry?

Isn't there some gethostbyserv or something like that that will give
me whatever the current machine thinks is the DNS server?

If I release an app, I don't want to hardcode any DNS server name or
address within it, and I'd like to avoid having to ask the user to
type it in.

Thanks.
