Bind 8.2.2 on Solaris 8

Hello,

I am running the latest version of Bind on Solaris 8. It runs as a salve
name server. Everything seems okay (pulls zones, answers queries, etc..)
but the following appears in /var/adm/messages:

May 23 19:16:21 bob named[15958]: starting. named 8.2.2-P5 Tue May 23
19:03:07 EDT 2000
May 23 19:16:21 bob root at bob:/app/distribution/bind822/src/bin/named
May 23 19:16:21 bob named[15958]: ctl_server: bind: No such file or
directory
May 23 19:16:21 bob named[15958]: Ready to answer queries.

(Yes, the servers called Bob, we have a gameshow host thing going...)

what does the "ctl_server: bind: No such file or directory" mean?
:/app/distribution/bind822/src/ is where I compiled the code, then copied
the binaries and libs to the appropriate spots on an already existing copy
of bind (8.2.x). Do I have to compile in the same directory as I install?

Thanks,
