Bind with DNAME

dlbDNS appears to be a load-balancing hack to BIND. Unfortunately, they used the token "DNAME" in their config files which is incompatible with the DNAME record type defined by RFC 2672. This will probably lead to
confusion.

Can anyone on the list testify as to dlbDNS'es efficacy? The web page I saw only said it was available for BIND 8.1.2. Has it been ported to later, less exploitable BIND versions?
