bind 8.2.3 vs. 9.1

Hi folks

Now I run bind on solaris 2.6, in solaris package format 
[download from sunfreeware.com]. I need help for this 2 questions

1. If I want to upgrade to 9.1 [by compile source from 
isc.org] how can I upgrade from the old one that was in 
solaris package.

2. If I want to upgrade to 8.2.3 by deploy package from 
sunfreeware. Is there any specific command for upgrade or 
just remove the old [by pkgrm] and install the new one [by pkgadd].
