problem with old or stale ip when you nslookup

Hi all-

I am currently maintaining BIND 8.1.2 p5 on Solaris 8. I am new to being the admin so bare with me if this is an easy one.

I have a customer that just changed the ip address of their mail server several days ago.

When you do a nslookup on one of our dns server (ns1) for his mail server if returns the old ip address. To make matters more confusing (ns2) my slave server returns the correct address. So does every other server that I nslookup on just not my master server.

I am at a loss at how to correct this. I have bounced the named process and it still returns the old address. In addition, if you allow the server( ns1) to run it will intermitently supply the correct address. Then revert back to the old address for a reason I am unable to discern.

Thanks for the help.
