Bind problems of a beginner

Assuming that "mydomain.com" is not actually your domain:

You should tell us what your domain is and add as much actual
information (copy/paste error messages, log entries etc) and
what configuration info would be pertinent (eg your named.conf,
zonefile(s) etc), sothat people can help you.

Without that all I can guess is: Your domain propably really
des not exists (delegation problems) or you have some DNS
errors or problems with a firewall setup. But which it is is
impossible to say without details.
