Thanks Barry and Danny for your replies.

Well, the options statement was added in and it worked. I am actually using
Linux Mandrake 7.1 BIND 8.2.2 - P7 and migrated from WIN DNS..

         If you're running on an NT box, upgrade to 8.2.3-T9B at the very
least.
   There are a lot of bugs in the NT version of 8.2.2-Px.  Are you sure that
   the cisco router is recognizing the IP address of the box you are using
to
   permit port 53 udp and tcp?
