	You didn't specify what type of query this is, so by default I 
believe that dig will fill in with an "ANY".

	This is just the information which the local nameserver had 
cached about this zone, and therefore it is what got stuffed in the 
response.  If you had specifically made a query of type NS, then the 
server would have had to go look up to see what the nameservers are, 
and would then have returned this information to you.

	This is perfectly normal behaviour.

	Nope.  It's one nameserver (the first label) and one e-mail 
address (the second label) whereby the first dot is turned into an 
"@" symbol if you need to send any mail.

	So, this SOA record is claiming that "ns.freenet.victoria.bc.ca." 
is the official master server for this zone, and that if you have any 
questions about this zone, they can be sent to 
"dns at freenet.victoria.bc.ca".
