Dynamic DNS persistence

I am using bind9 on debian woody to provide forward and reverse dns for a
local network. The problem is that while the system is working properly -
allocating and deallocating records, I would like the reverse records to
persist either until the client re-registers or fully releases its address
as when the batch log processing runs - such as SARG, only the machines
still on produce proper reverse addresses.

How can I achieve this behaviour?

Thanks in advance.
