Dear bind users,
I'm running a named on a FreeBSD 4.7 computer, behind a firewall. After
the start up of named, everything works well. After a while the named
process starts to use a lot of CPU sources:
12880 bind 63 0 17092K 16416K CPU1 0 73.2H 99.02% 99.02% named
155 root 2 0 3076K 884K select 1 12:20 0.00% 0.00% nmbd
62301 root 2 0 2788K 1380K select 1 4:11 0.00% 0.00% sendmail
83 root 2 0 360K 16K nfsd 1 2:33 0.00% 0.00% nfsd
It slows down the whole internet traffic. I don't know the reason for
this behaviour. In order to find what causes the trouble I need more
information. Is there a possibility to turn on the logging into a
specific file? And how can I tune the amount of logging?
