FWIW dhcp on my Thomson Speedtouch ADSL router assigns my FC6 machine a
subnet of 192.168.1.0/24 and a 'lan' TLD. If ICANN *were* to assign lan
as tld, there'd be an awfully large number of piqued Speedtouch users
around the world.
