Help needed

I needed to know,  which function in BIND would give me the resolved IP
addresses from the hostnames so that i can rank them based on some
parameters(for which i have a code with me) and send the ranked IP addresses
back to the client i.e i needed to know where exactly to put my code in the
BIND structure. Any help would be appreciated.
