Well, I still think that having separate processes is the best way
forward on this, since we gain a certain amount of protection against
coding errors because some software bugs will only affect one of several
running programs.

However, I think that some other people on the team feel that there are
benefits to using threads instead.

At this point, I don't think we have decided, but I thought I would make
the plan more accurate by having it describe what we actually want -
multiple cores - rather than a specific design.
