I will create a branch tomorrow, June 30, to prepare for the July 5
snapshot release.
I understand that some pushes to master have been happening that were
not in the last sprint. I feel this is fine for this "snapshot". But
for normal releases, we would be more strict about this. If you know of
anything that has a significant problem or you want in the next snapshot
tarball, please let me know. I plan to pull in fixes only as needed and
minor documentation improvements.
The reason we decided to put the snapshot releases a week after the
sprint end was because we often are in a rush of final merges on the day
following and a few times we have had some regressions, builder errors,
or other issues that have caused some extra effort right near the time
of my deadlines. This added week gives us leeway and helps us practice
for when we do real production releases (procedure is in the wiki).
(By the way, Normally I'd prefer to not do any release on day after a
day off -- in this case I have a holiday. But should be fine since I
will be prepared ahead of time.)
