seems fine to me (I'd be very afraid of the kde4-response if we would
call it 1.0a; numbers are just a label and cheap as well, but they
still carry quite a bit of perceived context). In the latter case i'd
personally at least spell out alpha :p
I'd much prefer the 1.0 release be some non-event (openSSL anyone? :))
than something that raises too much expectations.
IMHO and all that, not sure if we have some policy on this in general
actually
