Comment:

 For specific changes in configuration (and hence, also for the very first
 startup), queryShutdown is simply called as protection (just in case it
 has anything setup already). It's an easy check to remove this, probably
 in queryshutdown itself.

 I have a patch, since it's pretty simple (assuming the above is a correct
 observation), I'll use this to test out branching and merging once we have
 git :)
