This was discussed on Jabber. Jeremy wants to make sure that this isn't an
upstream problem that vendors are not providing broken Botan. However this
is not the case at all. This is a case where the user has manually updated
their compiler but not Botan. There are very good reasons why you want to
use the same compiler for as much of the BIND10 compile as possible, so
not only would compiling Botan be good from that point of view, compiling
a more modern Botan along with a more modern GCC will make the problem go
away.
Essentially there is nothing for us to do here. At best we can put in a
check in configure to detect this and abort with a friendlier warning
letting the user know why autoconf spits out that message and what they
can do to fix it.
