Paul: I did a little more testing this morning. See comments at http://bind10.isc.org/ticket/1640. If you want to use botan 1.10.1 with bind10, then 'apt-get install pkg-config' prior to running bind10 configure should fix the problem. It turns out that without pkg-config, bind10 configure fails anyway a little further along. Hopefully your Debian system will behave similarly to Ubuntu Oneiric. Jeff.
