IPv6 DDNS support in Linux distributions

Hi,

I've been looking at this Debian bug:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=619310

and this link in particular:
https://lists.isc.org/pipermail/dhcp-users/2008-August/007031.html

Can anybody comment on the current status of DDNS for DHCPv6?

In particular,

- does the dhclient in Linux distributions "just work" for DDNS? Does
it need some config tweak? Or does it need code changes? Debian has v4.2.2

- does the dhcpd server support this completely? Is there a sample config?

- can anybody comment on any alternative permutations (e.g. using the
Windows or Mac OS X client against the dhcpd on Linux)?

- does the dhcpd have to run on the same box as the radvd / default
gateway or are there any other aspects of IPv6 DHCP/DDNS that are unlike
IPv4?

Regards,

Daniel
