Upgraded my reader-box to inn-1999-10-05_03-00 yesterday, and I just
noticed that I'm still getting the failure that I noted sometime back in
early september:

Segmentation Fault - core dumped

as before, i'm not using class definition zero for anything. here's my
storage.conf and expire.ctl.

news-nnrp /usr/local/news/etc% cat storage.conf
method cnfs {
        newsgroups: alt.binaries.*
        class: 1
        options: BINARIES
}

method cnfs {
        newsgroups: alt.*, at alt.binaries.*
        class: 2
        options: ALT
}

method tradspool {
        newsgroups:
callatg.*,*.answers,news.newusers.*,news.announce.*,sonoma.*
        class: 3
}

method cnfs {
        newsgroups: *
        class: 4
  options: ALLELSE
}

news-nnrp /usr/local/news/etc% cat expire.ctl
/remember/:10
3:1:31:never
