CNFS-sm: size overflows bitmaps

I upgraded our transit server from the 06-Oct CVS version to the
13-Oct CVS version yesterday, and news.daily had lots of new errors
today that I hadn't seen before:

What does this mean? I didn't change anything other than INN itself.

Another weird thing is that one of my innfeed processes has grown
to a VSZ of 2139540 MB (about 2 GB!) with an RSS of 100 MB.

In addition, my Daily Usenet Report was 1.6 MB because of 1.59 MB
of the following lines:
