split of /usr/local/news/db

Just another data point:

I use /usr/local/news/active for active.*.
I use /usr/local/news/history for history.*.
The newsgroups file is kept in /usr/local/news/etc/.

I wouldn't want to add another level to that hierarchy, such
as your proposed 'db', but as long as the paths to most things
are configurable, I'd be happy.
