Painfully.

Seriously, the method that seems to really work reliably for traditional
spools that aren't already under the storage API is to just build a list
of all of the articles that you want to move, either using find or (much
faster) by pulling the message ID and article path out of the history file
if the system you're converting from used the old history file format, and
then using innxmit to send the entire list of articles to the server.
Generally it's best if the server isn't receiving any other feeds at the
time and has xrefslave turned on, and this should be done into a server
that doesn't already have all those articles in the history file
(obviously).

If you already have the articles stored in tradspool under the storage API
and are wanting to move them to CNFS on the same server, I think there was
a C program posted to inn-workers a while back called refile (or the like)
that tries to do this.

You shouldn't be getting any SMstore errors at all.  What errors are you
getting?
