authentication problem

Hello,

I have problem to authenticate user with inn 2.3. 
How do i configure readers.conf, in order to use shadows password? 

I try in readers.conf:

auth shell {
   hosts: *
   res: "ident"
   auth: "ckpasswd -s"
   default: "<FAIL>"
}

but i have error message:
 auth_err ckpasswd: user xxxx password doesn't match.
