make history problem

Just was wondering if you have made any progress to fix the problem
where if I use tradindexed for my overview files I get messages  like
this:

Jul 16 00:25:22 ccs makehistory[9655]: tradindexed: packgroup cant write to /var/spool/news/spool/overview/t/p/g/talk.politics.guns-NEW.IDX: Bad address
Jul 16 00:25:23 ccs last message repeated 33 times
Jul 16 00:25:24 ccs makehistory[9655]: tradindexed: packgroup cant write to /var/spool/news/spool/overview/g/t/grc.ten-forward-NEW.IDX: No such file or directory
Jul 16 00:25:29 ccs last message repeated 64 times

I have gotten around the problem by using ovdb instead, but sometimes
it has problems and I have to rebuild it.

Any  assistance would be appreciated.
