No.  I would even go so far as to say that it's the single worst error
message in all of INN, and it exists solely because we didn't previously
have any general way of reporting errors deep in library code that didn't
do the wrong thing for some part of INN, since some parts are running as
daemons and need to use syslog and others are interactive programs and
should spit out error messages on stderr.

Basically, that error message means "something went wrong in lib/dbz.c,
and your guess about what it was is as good as mine."

The general error handling framework is now in place in CURRENT, and over
time more of INN will make use of it.
