What are you trying to store in LDAP, authentication info (i.e.,
passwords), or list of which groups are authorized, or both?
If only the former, and your system supports PAM, you can also use
pamckpasswd (downloadable elsewhere, I have the link somewhere) in
combination with an LDAP PAM module.
