Overviews Lost

hi all,
Two months ago I installed an inn 2.3.2 on one of my client's server and
now I have a rather head-breaking problem with the the overview files.
It seems that the overviews of the articles are removed two weeks after
the posting. The articles remain in the articles spool area.
Here is the configuration that I use:
Version: 2.3.2
inn.conf:
ovmethod: tradindexed
# Article Storage
cnfscheckfudgesize: 0
enableoverview: true
groupbaseexpiry: true
mergetogroups: false
overcachesize: 15
ovgrouppat:
storeonxref: false
useoverchan: false
wireformat: false
xrefslave: false
expire.ctl:
/remember/:14
*:A:never:never:never
*** No ``Expire:'' Header has been found in the articles.
The "remember" setting is the most suspicious one, but, according to the
relevant documentation, since never:never:never is in use, no articles
or overviews must expire. (Is this correct?)
Now, although all articles (Numbers 1 - 26) still exist in the articles
spool area, the overview file of this Newsgroup starts from the article
with number 21.

Now allow me two questions:
1) Do you have any idea why INN expires the overviews of those articles
and how can I avoid this? Or at least can you indicate where can I find
more info (i.e log files) ?
2) How can I take my old overviews, which are valuable to me, back ?
Remember that the articles are still in place.
I've tried to use the overchan program but I it seems that in order to
construct the lines it needs as input, I must combine data stored in the
history file and in the corresponding article. I really have no evidence
of how to do this.
Is there any macro or utility out there that can restore the overview of
articles ?
Thanks for your time,
Kostas
