Local news is working great now thanks all who helped.

I am not getting news from my news feeder...
  =20
To start with I built an Active File with only my local groups and got =
that
working

We get our news from Sprint ..and it stopped one day on the old system =
but
since it has some may problems and the server was way undersized we did =
not
pursue it.

After I got the local groups working, posting expireing and all that I =
notice
we were once again connecting to Sprint so I added 2 groups to the =
active
file with the ctlinnd newsgroups command .. and to my surprise the feed
worked fine and I got their news.
Next I wrote a script to run the rest of the old active file entries =
back in
again using ctlinnd newgroup groupname -y or -m depending and

my success with getting news from outside stopped=20
I see these entries in the logs .. any Ideas ???
It looks like is is trying to give us something

Was your old server INN 2.0 or later? If not, you may have articles in
your old spool that don't have any Xref header at all. makehistory from =
a
current INN can't find those articles unless you go through and add Xref
headers to all of them.

This is one of the reasons why we recommend feeding articles from the =
old
server using innxmit instead; it doesn't have this problem (although you
can't use Xref slaving unless the articles have Xref headers, so you =
could
end up with article renumbering either way).

Well, that's fairly unlikely and makes me think that you don't have
logging configured properly so you're not seeing the error messages. =
INN
does very, very little without logging. Are you sure the articles =
aren't
ending up in spool/incoming or that there aren't some other error =
messages
in your logs?
