question about email and Inn

Sure, people do this in a bunch of different ways.  It depends 
primarily on how you can your hands on the email in some way.  For 
example, INN comes with "mailpost" (see the man page), which works for 
many people.

Or if you want full-featured mailing lists, you can install GNU 
Mailman, which has builtin support for gatewaying to and from a news 
server.
