That is why a Trac would be great for such things (milestones, blocking
releases, etc.).

I think the Trac should be on the server which hosts the Subversion
repository.  Russ, do you reckon you will find time to install it?
For your information, the Debian Subversion hook is installed there:
    /usr/share/doc/trac/contrib/trac-pre-commit-hook

No need to tweak the Trac:  I assume the default installation will be fine.
I will enter the tickets if you want (from TODO and previous mails/articles).


Otherwise, I could also host the Trac on my own server but I would have
to "svnsync" the Subversion repository in order to have a local read-only
mirror for Trac.  That's why I believe it is not a proper solution.
Furthermore, it would not be updated in real-time.
