Question about news feeds

Neither has any complaints. I should have said that the error I'm
getting is "no permission to talk: 502 permission denied". Sorry.

My bet is on a syntax error in incoming.conf.
It's easy to miss the corresponding one-line message in the logs.
What do
    inncheck
and
    ctlinnd checkfile
say?
