I just ran it:
-sh-3.00$ innreport -f
/etc/news/etc/innreport.conf /var/log/news/news /var/log/news/news.notice
No warnings, no errors no problems. So what does
that mean if it gives the error during news.daily but not as in the above?

Oh boy has it been annoying, never being able to
maintain a constant innfeed. This has been
driving me nuts for the last several years and I
am so happy it is finally fix. I really do thank
you very much. It is still working fine no
assertions and its been 32 hours since I added the patch
