Default configuration files served with unconfigured INN

Hi all,

Looking at news.tioat.net, running CURRENT, I see:

LIST MOTD
215 Message of the day text in UTF-8
Sample "message of the day" file. Any text you put in here will be returned
to the news reader when it issues the LIST MOTD command to nnrpd.

It is not an error if this file does not exist nor if it is empty. However,
it must be encoded in UTF-8.
.

LIST DISTRIBUTIONS
215 Distributions in form "distribution description"
.

LIST DISTRIB.PATS
215 Default distributions in form "weight:group-pattern:distribution"
.

These are the default files (motd.nnrpd and distributions/distrib.pats
with only commented lines).

I believe that these answers should be 503 by default (and not 215) because
obviously the news server does not maintain the information!

Of course the "moderators" file should be kept (it is fine, and used by nnrpd).

What would be the best way to achieve that?

Copying our samples with another name?

distributions.sample, distrib.pats.sample, subscriptions.sample,
motd.nnrpd.sample and motd.innd.sample?
Or a better name? Or another suggestion? (a subdirectory of <pathetc> with
our samples?)
