INN2 Not Launching Properly

Thanks again for replying!

No, no errors in any of /var/log/news/news.crit, .err, or.notice.

Remaking the history file appears not to have helped. All the files
in /var/lib/news/ appear to have a date and time stamp of today except
active.times; could that be the culprit?
