[Kea-users] Introduction and Questions

Hi all,

I'm Ian, I'm the director of IT for a small avionics company. I'm in
process of getting a Kea HA/Stork stack deployed and finding it fairly
straightforward. Unfortunately, I have run into a few issues and I had a
couple questions if anyone has answers.

1. My understanding is that it's only on the issuance of a lease that the
DHCP server sends an NCR to the dhcp-ddns server for updates to DNS. Does
anyone know of a way to get this to happen whenever a host reservation is
created in addition, so that the DNS entry gets registered before the host
requests an address, or is the only solution to enter DNS manually or wait
for the host to request an address? Is this something that people would
find a feature request for to be amicable?

2. Is there any official/unofficial IRC/Slack/Discord anything other than a
mailing list? I don't want to hate on the mailing list, but a more modern
instant messaging platform is more my forte.
