icmp 3/5 message makes the most sense

I really don't care what you use, if we use 13, it would be best to
additionally filter it to only be from the local gw incoming address
which would be... it's external interface

nextly, messages sent to the log via iptables,

are buffered for what appears to be about 30 seconds before appearing
anywhere I can get at them.
