I'm using bind 9 and this might be a sendmail problem, but let me first
look at the DNS side of the problem.

I'm trying to create a new alias for my box.

The box is

The alias I'm creating is

I would like to have mail for this domain under
user at

I have a record file that looks like this:

$TTL  86400;
@ IN SOA (

         1 ;SERIAL
        43200 ;Refresh after 12 hours
3600 ; retry in an hour
        2419200 ;Expire in 4 weeks
86400 ) ; Time to Live one day IN NS IN NS IN A IN A IN A IN A IN A IN A IN A IN MX 10 IN MX 10 IN MX 10

When I run

root at www2:/home/ruben > cat /proc/scsi/scsi |mail -v ruben at
/root/dead.letter... Saved message in /root/dead.letter
Postmaster... aliased to root
root... Connecting to local...
root... Sent

postmaster get this:
