DNS starter

Dear Friends,

Good Morning,

I want suggestions from the all the great people from this community
who have more experience in this industry.
I have installed RHEL3 and i am planning to install a dns, mail, ldap
server as a test, how do I go about.
How shall I configure my DNS which will cater to only the LAN, do i
need to implement firewall(IPTABLES).

Kindly suggest at the earliest.
