The way of storing articles in a local PC

Hello,

I read news from time to time using a client on my local PC.
But, in case of not accessing a news server for several days,
I lose some articles.

To avoid this, I would like to establish some kind of server
for downloading from its ancient server and storing articles.

Can I use INN for this purpose, without changing any configuration
on the ancient news server?

Or, any good client software for downloading and storing automatically?

My environment is Linux server, currently using as file server.
