Actually, once you build the overview database, you can use the 
`ctlinnd renumber ''` command to do the automatically.

You want to be sure to use the -O flag here.  And if you're going to use 
makehistory for this, you want to avoid versions 2.3.0, 2.3.1, and 2.3.2;
anything earlier or more recent should be fine.
