It's software, of course a new version introduces new bugs as well as 
fixes old bugs. But given the level of testing and experience with this 
software, I would say the chances of a *major* new bug are small, and 
the chances of getting a solution are much better with current versions. 
And your use doesn't sound as if it pushes the limits of the 
application, so you're unlikely to hit new bugs.
