As Jeff corrected me on news.software.nntp, it is not the case.  Only
readable newsgroups are sent in reply to a "list active" command.

(I mixed this behaviour up with the one of peers from which a "list active" command
does not use the rules of the patterns: option, if any in the incoming.conf file.)
