But if it is not the "news" user, you should add "--with-news-user=news" 
and "--with-news-group=news" to the configure line,
as well as the path where you want to install INN with 
"--prefix=/home/news" for instance.

No need to add one because it already exists.

Then the home directory is currently set to /var/spool/news for your 
"news" user.
